Van Park Danger

As many of you might be aware, one of the park rangers from English Bay has been trying his hardest to get rid of SpandyAndy. He can now be seen commenting on SpandyAndy’s Fan Page.

After performing at English Bay for 3 weeks I had only positive feedback from everyone. People were dancing with me, enjoying the music, or just having a good time. The police would walk by, and I would just solute their presence. They would even be seen cracking a few smiles. Here is an example someone filmed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q22YNbz-SmI

Now the Park Ranger, known on facebook as Van Park Danger, has decided to spend all his time and efforts getting me out of English Bay. I actually haven’t even been at English Bay for a week, my longest time since starting, and he still is deciding to wage war on my fan page.

I have decided to use my Spandy powers to once again battle my arch nemesis Van Ranger Danger. Please check out this video:

Some people have also started a petition to allow me to perform at English Bay for 2 hours. Join the group!! :-D

I myself got into an altercation with this same “gentleman” last night. I hope he jerks off to how many angry and sad faces he creates in a day.

I don’t believe Park Rangers have the powers to force someone to leave the park. They would need to call the police, and there would have to be reasonable cause for them to force you out (you are fighting, causing a serious disturbance, etc). As well, a park ranger can definitely NOT force you to stay away from a public park without a court order. This I know, and it’s the reason homeless people can sleep in the park repeatedly and no one can do a damn thing about it (except harass them – which is illegal). If you are being harassed by someone who is employed by the Park Board, I would suggest taking it further since the city would rather fire him than have negative publicity with the impending Olympics.

    LOL @ Van Park User

    Hey Mike,
Yeah, they called the police once to remove me.
They gave a ticket to another street performer as well. I know I could fight it, but getting tickets, going to court, being stopped in the middle of my show, and breaking sound bylaws was enough to move me. I don’t really have the energy right now to battle them. Some fans are taking it on to start the petition and another one is trying to get me a meeting with the parks board. In the mean time I have moved my show to places that are more “accepting”. I hope Spandy will be back at E-Bay soon though.
