They gave a ticket to another street performer as well. I know I could fight it, but getting tickets, going to court, being stopped in the middle of my show, and breaking sound bylaws was enough to move me. I don't really have the energy right now to battle them. Some fans are taking it on to start the petition and another one is trying to get me a meeting with the parks board. In the mean time I have moved my show to places that are more "accepting". I hope Spandy will be back at E-Bay soon though. SpandyAndy LOL @ Van Park User

Yeah, they called the police once to remove me.
They gave a ticket to another street performer as well. I know I could fight it, but getting tickets, going to court, being stopped in the middle of my show, and breaking sound bylaws was enough to move me. I don’t really have the energy right now to battle them. Some fans are taking it on to start the petition and another one is trying to get me a meeting with the parks board. They would need to call the police, and there would have to be reasonable cause for them to force you out (you are fighting, causing a serious disturbance, etc). As well, a park ranger can definitely NOT force you to stay away from a public park without a court order. This I know, and it's the reason homeless people can sleep in the park repeatedly and no one can do a damn thing about it (except harass them - which is illegal). If you are being harassed by someone who is employed by the Park Board, I would suggest taking it further since the city would rather fire him than have negative publicity with the impending Olympics.
