Don’t Stop ‘Till You Get Enough
Canada day consisted of a children’s birthday party, Cannabis Day Rally, random bus stop performances, and a BIG finished at English Bay!
The party started at 11:30am down by 2nd beach pool. The kids were awesome. They were better then me at the chicken dance!!
On my way home from the party someone told me there was a “Cannabis Day Rally” at the V.A.G. I had to go check it out. I found a spot on the side and performed for about 3 hours. Then I decided I would take a quick bus home, shower, and head to Coal Harbor (fireworks). If anyone took a bus Canada Day they know it wasn’t happening. The parade + swarms of people, made walking a better option.
After waiting at a bus stop for 45minutes, I decided to take my performance to English Bay. The show was AMAZING! So much crowd involvement and everyone having a great time. Dancers of all kinds and even my buddies from the street, literally.
If anyone has seen my show down by the bay, where the watermelons grow. They might know these characters. They collect bottles on the beach and are there all the time. Ever since I started giving them a tip they have LOVED performing. It is great watching them have such a good time. Everyone <3 's it.
After 3hrs, and rows of people, I had to pack up. What a CRAZY day. I have a passion for dancing, performing and entertaining people, but after today I noticed the $$$ just isn't there. I never really ask for money, but I'm trying to make this my full time job. I'm not giving up and new ideas are on there way for sure. I think I can do it!, But street shows won't do it.
As Micheal said, "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough"!

Hey Andy , I love that you are following your dream. Keep dancin’ and making people smile. Do you have a container to collect donations from the crowd, try and find something at a Dollar store that is bright and “light” maybe something you can fold up and carry that you could weigh down. Make a sign that says ” “Dancing for Donations” to remind people it is okay and welcomed that they donate some $$$ and show their appreciation for you and your entertainment, time and talent.

Thanks for the comment and ideas Ian!
I have a big purple pimp hat with gold dollar signs that I place in front of my boombox. Most people know it’s there. I could plead for money at the end like every other street performer, but I just don’t feel good doing it. We’ll see what comes in the next few weeks of performing.

andy, you have inspired me to go out there and have a great time. i really thank you for that
many people think you are some crazy whack job but i believe that you are some thing special. i love your bright colors and the first time i saw you i nearly shit myself lol. i have a suggestion, you should run along the beachs of vancouver carrying your boom box and while wearing boxing glooves. it would be the best thing ever.
thanks,
Spandrew andrew
may the force be with you LOL
