Last night I got together with a bunch of friends, fans and even another contestant to watch the show at a local pub.

It was a surreal experience. I was nervous, all my friends and family were watching the show and I had know idea how much of me was going to be on the show, or how they were going to portray Spandy. I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. Jwon, the dancer/doctor, was also at the party. Him and I met on the show and really connected. We hangout and practice dancing in Vancouver all the time. If you watched the show you know there is more of him to come!

Thank you everyone for watching and all your comments! Spandy will thrust forth with a new set of ultra durable spandex bottoms!

SpandyAndy made his big debut on national television today! It was soooo exciting!!

I was able to watch CTV Toronto and see it before all my friends and family here. I am so excited for everyone to see it. The crazy thing about the auditions is that they were done over 3 months ago. I didn’t even know if I was staying in Vancouver for sure at the time. After the show I realized how much passion I really had to dance and entertain. Since then my skills have increase exponentially. Hopefully the exposure will help me spread smiles everywhere and open up more exciting opportunities.

The show will be airing again on Much Music this Sunday if you missed it!

SpandyAndy took his first dance workshop last week. My classes were Mon – Fri, 10am – 4pm and they were in the styles of Popping, Locking, Boogaloo, and House.

Up until last week I had very little dance training. I had taken a few break dancing classes since I came to Vancouver, but I rarely break when performing SpandyAndy. Most of SpandyAndy as you can tell his freestyle.

The classes I took were taught by members of the group that founded the popping and boogaloo style of dance. The Electric Boogaloos

The classes were amazing. One of the things the teachers continued to remind us was that you have to feel the music inside of you. The techniques and dance moves are secondary to actually being FUNKY. I think that is a reason why my dance is enjoyed by so many people. I always put myself in the music and let it control my body. Now I need to practice the techniques of different styles of dance, so that I can perform them cleaner.

It is supposed to rain all week, but the forecast is for sun this weekend. If it continues that way, I’ll be sure to see you on the sunny beaches of English Bay Sat. and/or Sun. Until then, keep on dancing.

Tonight is the last night of fireworks. SpandyAndy will be there to dance in front of the big crowds one last time. Then I’ve got a crazy busy few weeks ahead of me.

The fireworks are super fun. The beach gets PACKED. By the time the fireworks start, it is hard to walk down the path cause every square inch is filled with a body. I arrive around 6:30pm. The beach is busy, but there is still enough room to dance around and play with people. Wednesday after dancing in 32 degree C weather for 2 hours I checked my hat. I hadn’t made $10. I went around and handed out my buttons and business cards to everyone and headed to the shower.

Last night (Friday) around 3:00am I decided I would head down to Grandville St. near all the bars and pizza shops and dance around. I wore a full black outfit with some shiny shoes and a SpandyAndy hat. After performing for about 10 minutes a man walked up to me and handed me $20. He thanked me for the entertainment and headed off. IN 10 MINUTES I made double I did in 2 hours in spandex in the sun.

I don’t do SpandyAndy just for money, but I’m trying to make a living being a dancer. I signed up for a Dance Workshop that starts on Monday. I’m really excited about it. It cost me $480! I will be learning a lot of the foundation.

I’ll be at English Bay today around 6:30pm to dance and spread some smiles, then later I’ll head downtown to hit the bar crowd.
