SpandyAndy’s 2010 Winter
Hey TIGHT and BRIGHT party people!
It’s been a couple weeks since my last update. I was lucky enough to survive the swine flu, practice my dancing and meet up with some students from Vancouver Film School to talk about the SpandyAndy documentary!
I’ve been thinking a lot about what I can do with SpandyAndy during the winter. With all the rain and the temperature starting to drop around 0 degrees, it’s hard to find a spot to dance. My permit has expired, but I plan on heading into City Hall to get that renewed next week. There has been a lot of talk about how difficult the city is making it for buskers during the Olympics and how they have passed new bylaws preventing us from performing anywhere near Olympics sites.
I don’t understand why a city like Vancouver doesn’t want to showcase its people in the arts. Grandville Island is known as one of the best places in the world for performing arts and busking. Why when the world is watching would they muzzle us and pass new laws. It’s hard enough trying to make it without worrying about being a criminal too.
Anyway, I figure I am going to perform where the people are whether the city likes it or not. I might just dance without a hat. That way it is not busking. I don’t think they have a law passed preventing people from dancing on the sidewalks. (Hopefully they don’t read this. lol)
Otherwise I should be busy working with the students from VFS on a documentary. We met for coffee and they still have to get final approval from class, but it looks like it’s a go. We will be filming in Dec.
Stay FRESH and use hand sanitizer ![]()
