Kerry Wood Nature Centre was just like I remembered it being when I grew up. I first attended the nature centre on a school field trip, and was happy to find that the centre has still preserved beautiful Waskasoo Park.
Kathryn, our tour guide, did an awesome job of explaining each and every little flower and animal to Kim (Dallas girls don’t know much about Canadian wildlife!).
Although Kerry Wood hasn’t changed since I was growing up, there are some major renovations about to take place. Families in Red Deer should look forward to the exciting changes that will be taking place this fall at Waskasoo Park. The new children’s music area is pretty extensive and looks like it will be a great addition to the already exciting outdoor tree house area.
We can’t wait to return next year and see the improvements, along with the growth and wildlife changes. If you are in the Red Deer area make sure to spend a day in Waskasoo Park enjoying all that nature has to offer.
